On this 29th day of February, one last love-centric post.  Now that the days are warmer and the sun is a little stronger I've noticed my pets basking more in the sunbeams as they stream into the house.  That used to be a part of my Sunday morning ritual.  I'd snag the comics from the newspaper and read them while basking in the warm rays of a morning sunbeam.  This image of being loved really struck me.  What are your favorite bits of love imagery?

The only thing that would make this card cooler and more beer-centric would be if it were printed on a coaster.  Then, you would truly know how loved you were.  Beer drinkers, the serious ones are a dedicated bunch.  I currently have two friends who are in the middle of their own home brewing adventures.  I can't wait to sample some of those brews this summer.  Are you a beer drinker?

This whole week I have been envious of all my Seattle teaching friends.  They have all been basking in the glory of a mid-winter break.  I could really use a week off from students right about now.  That would be so nice.  I need a break from these kids, Monday wasn't enough.  In the back of my mind I have two countdowns going - 1 until spring break and 2 until I fly to Seattle to begin my summer. I need to focus on hating less and loving more.  Anything getting under your skin lately?

A few months ago on my way home from Florida I lost one of my favorite earrings.  I lost one, the other sits by its lonesome self in my jewelry dish.  I didn't realize how much I wore these earrings until I lost one.  Simple, but unique enough to dress up.  When I spotted this pair by lemonade handmade they struck me as simple but special enough.  They are going on my wish list.  Do you have a favorite pair of earrings?

I've decided to extend my Valentine's day cards for the entire month, a month of love can't hurt anyone right?  I saw this and thought that making a fort would be a pretty awesome Valentine's or any day adventure.  I know that for most of you, building a fort is something that you haven't done in ages (Yes, there is one friend I have who is known to build forts at random, in fact I saw her in a fort just last month).  I would personally go for a tree house, but looking at the sad saplings in my yard, I think it will have to wait.  What would your fort be?  Pillows & blankets?  A secret hideout in the woods?

I couldn't resist yet another birthday-themed card that reminded me of my husband.  Thanks to etsy you can find a card for pretty much every personality and every occasion.  I wish I were home enjoying my day off maybe baking a cake or sleeping in again.  Are you celebrating President's Day with a day at home or in the office?

My husband turned 30 this weekend and we had a blast.  Friday night we went out to a fancy dinner with friends.  Saturday we slept in and then packed for a night in Austin.  This morning we woke early because he was racing in the Austin 1/2 marathon.  Saturday night we had dinner with a friend in town and got to walk from our hotel all over town.  I miss that part of living in a city.  Our morning walk to the capitol was brisk and beautiful.  What a blast.  It was a beautiful morning and a great race.  I couldn't be happier for Trevor, he finished with a smile on his face, a PR and a finish photo with the bulldog.  All in all, it was a lovely weekend.  How was your weekend?

Yeah, and some of us hate Valentine's day all together.  Believe it or not, they make cards for that too.  I knew I marked this card as a favorite for a reason...  I could send it, but I am better than that and will hold my head a little higher knowing that I didn't.  Are you anti-valentine?

Even cynical people love something, right?  This card has the perfect sentiment.  Although you may not be a fan of the 14th it doesn't mean you should bypass telling someone you love them or showing some appreciation.  How did you celebrate?

Today is the day!  I love - love!  Hug a friend, smile at a stranger and spread the feeling.  You don't have to buy a thing to let someone know you care about them - you can celebrate without giving Hallmark a dime.  Have a great day and know that if there isn't a card in your mailbox yet (and you're on my list of course) it's on the way.  Soon I'll be posting a tutorial of my very own VD greetings.  Who is your valentine?

French fries and a burger with mustaches make me laugh.  I love french fries and the addition of fries to a Valentine's card would only increase my love for whomever sent me the card.  You can really buy my love if you bring me fresh hot deep fried potatoes along with that card.  In my opinion, you can't go wrong with french fries.  Someone needs to tell Hallmark that we need more than just chocolate.  Don't you agree?

Big kisses for Friday.  I needed a Friday two days ago and it has finally crept up and and tapped me on the shoulder.  Now I have a weekend full of reading, not the good kind either.  I shouldn't have started a new novel because I'll be so be so tempted to put off the real work for the reading pleasure.  How have you been this week?

There are so many things I could write inside of this card.  I'm rather good at bestowing compliments, and have been teaching my 8th graders synonyms for beautiful all week so that they can impress their Valentines next week.  I like wit, humor, creativity, dedication, honesty, brawn, brains, a challenge the list is never complete.  What do you like about your Valentine?

Oh man, too bad most kids don't understand sarcasm too well - this is an attitude I recognize far too often.  It's like the idea that everybody should get an A for showing up.  If only life were really that easy.  Maybe it's just me, but staying home and looking pretty sounds awful boring to me.  I'd rather be out doing something fun or challenging?  What about you, feeling entitled?

If I had a kid or was a kid who needed Valentines to pass out at school, I think I would be all over this PDF.  Clever, cute and fun.  The kids at my school can buy cards and candies to be delivered on the 14th, but can't come toting bears, flowers, or Whitman samplers.  I was all about the boxed cards when I was younger - just sent some lovely greetings via snail mail on Batman cards to my nephews.  Were you the type to declare your love on Valentine's day at school?

This card has made the rounds online, but I love the idea of this pink bear hugging just about anything you can squeeze between his paws.  In fact, I love this bear hug card as an impromptu frame or photo mat.  That would be pretty unique.  Might just have to sweep one up.  My dad used to bear hug me so that my squeals came out in loud choppy bursts, maybe he'd like a pink bear.  Who was your most memorable bear hug?

I know someone who burps and farts and smells, but regardless of these gross factors, I love them anyway.  (I'll pardon the grammar on the card because I love the sentiment.  Cards for everyone this holiday... I actually managed to package up gifts for my nieces and nephews too.  I can't believe that I've actually got my act together.  Now, I must make it to the post office!  How do your loved ones gross you out?

I say I hate my students when they're not around, a whole bunch.  I bet that you have hated the people who surround you regularly, just enough to balance your love.  If I really hated kids I would need to find another job, it would be terrible to stay.  I would like to throttle a few on any given day, but then I wouldn't get the proud moments laughing at silly stuff or reading their work to see how far they have come.  I love the sarcasm of these cards, love to hate and hate to love.  Who do you hate to love?

This is true.  In fact sometimes my life sucks a little more when I think of you and can't just call you up to hang out.  I miss you - my far-away friends.  I'm glad you're part of my life despite the distance.  It totally sucks being away, but it would be worse without you at all.
